Urgesin Tablets (5 mg) – Solifenacin Succinate
Composition:
- Active Ingredient: Solifenacin Succinate 5 mg per tablet
Indications:
- Used for the treatment of:
- Overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and increased urinary frequency.
Mechanism of Action:
- Solifenacin is a selective antagonist of the M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor, which helps relax the bladder muscle, reducing the frequency of involuntary contractions and improving bladder capacity.
Dosage:
- The typical starting dose is 5 mg once daily. Depending on the patient’s response, the dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily.
- It can be taken with or without food.
Side Effects:
- Common Side Effects: Dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, and urinary retention.
- Serious Side Effects: Risk of angioedema, severe allergic reactions, and potential for urinary tract infections.
Contraindications:
- Not recommended for individuals with:
- Known hypersensitivity to solifenacin or any of its components.
- Urinary retention or gastric retention.
- Severe ulcerative colitis or myasthenia gravis.
Storage:
